Set up Narrowcasting for Kiosks

The Peppered Kiosk functionality allows users to display and select upcoming events on a touchscreen, providing details and a QR code for easy ticket purchasing.

It can be configured through a specific URL on your website, supporting multiple languages and customizable event filters. To use the Kiosk, a design implementation and proper licensing are required, and it necessitates a touchscreen with internet access.

How to set up Kiosks with Narrowcasting

The Kiosk is accessible on your own website via the URL extension /nc/kiosk. The URL will look something like mytheater.com/nc/kiosk.

It will also work in different languages, if your website supports that. Add the language tagΒ enΒ in the URL if you want the kiosk to display in English, similar to your website e.g. mytheater.com/en/nc/kiosk.

The Kiosk displays a list of events that you can curate yourself by adding extra variables to the URL of the Kiosk. This works exactly the same as the URL structure of the calendar view on your website. You can filter the Kiosk view on genres, tags, start-and end date, type of event (movie, default, etc). Copy and Paste the URL extension from your website calendar page when you are happy with the selection.

Top Tip! All settings can be combined by adding them together with an "&" in between.

Kiosks: Design and use

Similar to Narrowcasting (mytheater.com/nc/) this feature is already accessible on your live website to review and play with.

If you would like to start using the Kiosk functionality, a design needs to be implemented and the proper licence needs to be activated. Please contact us when you are keen to use this feature!

The Kiosk feature requires a touchscreen with internet access and a web browser. CultureSuite does not provide this hardware.
