Cost Explainer

Updated: 01 December 2025 for Release v222

The total price for Visitors can include various costs in addition to the ticket price, which are configured in the box office system. For example, booking fees. All extra costs must be communicated on the website. Cost explainer text can be added next to prices.

Specific Productions can override the default text regarding service costs, and events without service costs should be marked accordingly.

About the Cost Explainer

The Default Cost Explainer text is added in System > Template Texts > FE3_serviceCostsEventPage

The Cost explainer text appears next to the prices on the Production page on the website and in the purchase path.

Update for a specific Production

To overrule the default text for a specific Production, in the Details tab update the Cost explainer text field.

Select the checkbox Use production-specific cost explainer instead of default text. For example: "For this event only €1,- service costs will be added". This will override yourr default text (for this event specifically). Make sure to also change the amount of service costs in your Box Office so the final charge matches.

The
The Cost explainer override text field filled in and the User production-specific… box checked. The default text is also shown, with a link to the Template text to quickly edit.

If you have an event without service costs select the check box and leave the text field empty. The default Template text about service costs will not appear for the Production.

⚠️
Take note! All extra costs that are not included in the ticket price need to be communicated on the website.
