Seasons

Seasons provide a distribution of events on the website that is especially applicable to theatres and concert halls. Seasons work together with Groups. Seasons can be hidden on the website as long as they should not be seen or stored in an archive (or not shown at all) when they are outdated.

Season Start and End Dates

Seasons are scheduled with dates.

⚠️
Take note! Seasons dates cannot overlap each other.

When creating a new Season ensure that the Start date and time are the same as the End date and time of the season before. For example, if the End date of the old season is ‘2025-08-01 00:00’, this will mean the current season has to start on ‘2025-08-01 00:00’.

Before you add a Season, check the Seasons you already have. You can have multiple Archive Seasons but only one Current, Next (visible) & Draft (not visible) season.

Take note! Seasons need to connect exactly. Even if there is a gap of 1 minute, the seasons won’t be connected correctly. Make sure to always check this when making a new Season.

Season Types

A distinction is made between the following types of seasons:

  • Archive: This is not shown on the website unless there is an event archive.
  • Current: This is currently shown as the default season on the website.
  • Next (visible): This season is the next and is visible under specific circumstances ( for example, in presale).
  • Draft (not visible): These seasons are not yet visible and lie further in the future.

Groups in Seasons

Each Season must be linked to a default Group. This is very important because selecting a Group when adding a new Event is required. The default Group will be used anytime you import new events.

Multiple Groups can be active in one season. When you create an extra group for a series of special events, for example, you do not need to connect it to a season. The event in your extra group will automatically be put in the right Season based on the event date.

This theatre has six seasons, with all date perfectly set.

In the Groups module, you will find more Groups. For example, “Pre-sale Liefhebbers april” is probably made to sell some shows in April for a specific group of people.

Additional notes

A good thing to know: when the date of your current season expires, it will not automatically change to Old Season.

You should always manually change the Type of your Season to Old / Current / Next / New.
