This document provides information about Price types, including categories, visibility settings, conditional visibility, setting a maximum per Price type, step setting, advanced pricing options, and importing prices. It also includes instructions on how to change the position of prices and a link to the manual for Price types.
The Price types module is currently in Beta. Look for the “Beta” label next to the module name in the CMS menu to open the new module.

About Price types
Price types are divided into seven main groups:
- Events
- Cross sell
- Voucher [check the products manual for more information]
- Donation [check the donations manual for more information]
- Insurance [check the products manual for more information]
- Membership [check the products manual for more information]
- Merchandise [check the products manual for more information]

Price Visibility Settings
A Price type has two visibility statuses:
- Always = Visible to all Visitors on the website
- Conditional = Only visible to selected Visitors

Conditional visibility
Conditional visibility is a mechanism that allows Price types to become visible when a certain condition is met.
Conditional Price types are never shown on the website, but can become visible in the integrated CultureSuite order flow during one of the following situations:
- Discount codes: When creating a discount code, you can choose to use the conditional price in the promotion.
- All conditional prices can be selected in the Discount codes module. Only after the correct code has been filled in on the website during the check-out, the Price type will become visible and available for booking.
- Bundles: When creating a bundle, you can choose to use the conditional price in the bundle.
- All conditional prices can be selected in the Bundles module. After selecting one or more events from a bundle, the bundle price will be shown in the order flow.
- Privileges: A Privilege will only unlock a Price type for visitors with a specific visitor tag e.g. "Friend".
- All conditional prices can be selected in the Privileges module.
- Payment link: With a payment link, conditional prices will also be shown.
Show the right price at the right time, automatically
You can set Price types to have an availability window, with a from date and time, and an optional until date, to control when each price is visible to visitors.
For venues using Tixly, Ticketmatic or Ovatic
These availability dates are imported automatically from your ticketing system and kept in sync.
For venues using Itix
Prices are only imported on the dates permitted by your Itix settings.
If your ticketing system integration doesn't support this yet, but you think it's useful for you, reach out to us.
To activate Price type from and until
- Go to System > Control Panel > Prices and enable Import from/until dates per price type
- Availability windows will then be imported automatically from your ticketing system, or can be set manually where your system is not leading.

Price type Rules
Maximum Price type per Event
Each Price type can have its own maximum (or minimum) number of tickets allowed per event.
If this is set, the selection options in the integrated CultureSuite order flow are immediately limited and a message in the seat selection is shown if the maximum amount of select-able seats for that specific Price type has been reached.

There is also a global default maximum per Price type. This setting is in System > Control Panel > Ticketing > Max tickets per event. Default is set at 20.
Step setting
This indicates the multiples of tickets Visitors can book.
For Example, with a Step set to 2, Visitors can book only 2, or 4, or 6... tickets at a time.
Price display options
Min-max price range
You can exclude Price types from the min-max price range. By not selecting Include in the min-max price range box in the Price type > Details tab.
Example (right): The price "volwassenen" (€14) is active and can be booked, but is not visible in the min-max price range above.
“From” price display
Rather than display a price range, you can choose to show the minimum price of the price range only, as prices starting “from” that price.
Go to Control panel > Formats > From price toggle. Set to Yes to change your min-max layout to a “From” layout that only displays the minimum price.

Advanced Pricing - Activation threshold
Buy X tickets, get (a) ticket(s) for free / get a discount
Another price feature is the option to unlock a Price type based on the amount of selected "standard" tickets. This enables you to offer a second ticket for free, or a third ticket for a discount price, etc.
How to set it up:
- Create a Price type in your ticketing system for the Free or discounted ticket and import it to the CultureSuite CMS.
- Go to Marketing > Price types module > find the Price type and set the visibility to "Always".
- The Activation threshold signifies the amount of "standard" tickets that needs to be selected first, before the special Price type will be unlocked.

Order of Prices
To rank the various Price types, you can drag a price upwards to show it at the top on the website, or to create a new order of ranking. Select the 6 dots on the far right and drag and drop into the order you want.
Or, in the Price Type, you set the specific position in the list. When your list spans multiple pages, this is easier than drag and drop. Set a position and all other items shift automatically. Set a position and all other items shift automatically.

Price zones
Price type zones (also known as “categories”, “Ranks”, “Tiers” or “sections”) are additional information about a group of seats. This information is primarily handled by the ticketing system and is stored Marketing > Price zones module for the purpose of providing a label to communicate this extra information in the order flow.
This module has the option to be multilingual, which enables you to communicate your prices and zone setup in different languages in the integrated CultureSuite order flow.
Importing prices
Via API
Websites with integrated ticketing will update prices automatically with each order.
For all websites with access to a Ticketing API, prices can also be updated automatically periodically, even when the order flow is not integrated.
A new Price types import can be manually triggered by using the Import button in the Price type module.
Manually
If no Ticketing API is available, you can add prices manually to each event.
- First create any Price type you need in the Price type module.

- Create new zones in the Price zones module. If your halls have no zones, use one “Standard” zone.
- After adding these general Price types and zones, you can add the exact prices per event on the event CMS page.
