How to get access to your test website

How to get access to your test website (.acc.peppered.com)

This document explains how you can get access to your staging environment (for performing tests, etc.) and how you can use the Special Access tool in the staging environment.

Staging Website Dashboard

To enter your test website you go to:

yourdomain.acc.peppered.com/dashboard

Take note! for some websites the URL is different from this example. If you don't know the URL to your test website, ask a Peppered Expert to provide it.

When you are logged in to the dashboard you can access the test website.

If you are not logged in to the dashboard and you direct to the regular URL, you wil see this:

Screenshot of the test website pulling up with the following error: “Access denied. This website can only be reached with special access privileges.”

By adding /dashboard to the test URL you will be able to log-in and access the website.

Returning to the test website from the dashboard

When you are logged in to the dashboard of your test website, you can open the front of your (test) website, by clicking on the name of your venue next to the globe icon (in the case below 'Peppered'):

The Special Access pops up once you are logged in to the dashboard. We advise to minimalize the pop-up, since if you (accidentally) close it, you either have to wait an hour for it to come back or delete your cookies.

Make it easy for yourself

To make things even easier, you can add a bookmark to your browser.

Navigate to the bookmark settings in your browser and add the following:

javascript:void(window.location = window.location.origin + '/dashboard')
screenshot of the ‘edit bookmark’ option in a browser, showing that the ‘name’ section has been filled out with ‘/dashboard’ and the ‘URL’ section has been filled out with the javascript text mentioned above.

After adding your bookmark you can always click on it to navigate directly to your login page.
